About the Border Center
The
Border Compliance Assistance Center web site is being developed
to help individuals that import hazardous waste into the U.S. from
Mexico understand and comply with environmental regulations. With
recent concerns about homeland security, it is even more important
to minimize border delays. If transporters are prepared with everything
they need for border crossing, this will help everyone keep our
borders secure, and keep the traffic flowing freely.

The Border Compliance Assistance Center offers plain language
explanations in both English and Spanish of regulations, driver
and vehicle
requirements, insurance requirements, custom yard
information, and packaging and labeling. The site also features
downloadable
forms,
local, state and federal points of contacts, and links to
relevant information.
The Border Compliance
Assistance Center is being developed by the National Center for
Manufacturing Sciences. Funds from the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency make this effort possible.
