The Border Center ­ Chemical Import-Export Issues is the newest of three topics to be addressed by the Border Center operated by the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences.  The Border Center is dedicated to border compliance issues such as transboundary movement of chemicals and wastes, specifically addressing:

• Import of hazardous waste from Mexico into the U.S
• Import of municipal solid waste from Canada into the state of Michigan
• Import / Export of chemicals to and from the U.S

The Border Center ­ Chemical Import-Export Issues provides U.S. compliance assistance information for importing and exporting chemicals, including toxic substances, hazardous wastes, and other materials of environmental concern.  It covers existing international agreements and applicable regulations.  Also, there is a news section where current and relevant articles are posted.
